Daring Greatly

I am a huge fan of Brene Brown, her research, and her new (Sept 2012) book Daring Greatly.
I love what she's about, her story, and all the amazing & life-affirming things her research shows about human connection. At some point I'll add a list of other people I admire too, but for now she'll do pretty well as a representative example.

The inspiration for her book Daring Greatly came from a Theodore Roosevelt quote that, when distilled it to its essence would be this: It's not the critic that counts.

As a mom to be, there's no time like the present for me to embrace and live the ideas behind Daring Greatly, thereby maximizing the positive impact I can have on my baby.

Speaking of parenting, I'm especially in love with her Parenting Manifesto. Go, read it. Print it. I'm pretty sure I'm going to get it framed to put in the nursery.

And there will likely be some blog posts that reference this page.
